François Lefebvre joined the FBF in April 2024 as Deputy General Manager, in charge of the “Retail and remote banking”, “Digital, payments and operational resilience”, and “Legal and compliance” departments. Before joining the FBF, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Bpifrance Assurance Export from 2019 to 2024. He is a Sciences Po Paris graduate, holds a degree in law and an MBA in Finance from ESSEC Business School, and is an École nationale d’administration (ENA) alumnus.

François Lefebvre is a member of the FBF Executive Committee, alongside Maya Atig, Chief Executive Officer, Ermelina Debacq, Deputy General Manager, and André-Guy Turoche, AFB Director of Social Affairs.

The French Banking Federation would like to express its sincere thanks to Etienne Barel for his commitment to serving the banking industry in France and for his many achievements, particularly within the European Banking Federation over the past six years. The FBF wishes him every success in his new role as a member of Banque Transatlantique’s Management Board.
